Awareness Projects

E-Health Project

The website will provide information on critical literature review for findings on asthma and allergies. Our website will be designed to encourage children's interactions through various animated features. The site will conduct surveys on symptoms for determining if a patient can be diagnosed with asthma. The collection and analysis of qualitative interview data is the primary objective.

The CD-ROM will contain information on diagnosing the symptoms and preventative methods for controlling asthma. This will be distributed in the target areas on information days at health fair, schools, and community events. We will offer an animated and informative version.

The kiosks will provide quantitative analysis of asthma patients based on a variety of criteria. Both the animated and informative versions will offer real-time feedback for its users. We will analyze the data from each kiosk for future research.

Mobile Asthma Screening/Awareness - MASA

The Breath of Hope Foundation, Inc. Mobile Asthma Screening and Awareness Unit believes education and prevention are the keys to a healthy lifestyle. We will provide services to any entity that wishes to have them, such as health departments, schools, church groups and other events such as health fairs, community events, and sporting events.

This mobile asthma screening and awareness unit can include exam tables, refrigerators, restroom facilities, and a waiting area, A TV and VCR can aid in patient education and a computer station allows current information to be readily at hand.  The Mobile Asthma Screening and Awareness Unit will only require a flat, level-parking surface. An electrical hook-up is not necessary as the unit runs off its own generator.

In most neighborhoods, families are accustomed to an abundance of medical expertise.  Individuals living in low-income, impoverished or underserved areas, they have limited access to quality medical care and information.  The Breath of Hope Foundation Asthma Screening and Awareness Unit will be designed to improve access to medical care and awareness for underserved children.  Breath of Hope Foundation, Inc, wants to capitalize on President George W. Bush's almost $25-million commitment to faith- and community-based organizations, designed to ease the burden of children's health care in economically disadvantaged populations.
